Hometown Hideaways was born from the passion my husband and I share for renovating and designing spaces where people can relax and enjoy themselves. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to build and decorate two custom homes of our own, and this led us to our first fixer-upper project. Three years ago, we purchased our first planned short-term rental in Wellsboro, PA—a property that needed more work than we initially expected, especially with us living 3.5 hours away. However, we’ve been visiting the area for over 30 years and absolutely love it, so we saw this as the perfect opportunity to combine our passion for home renovations with our love for the community.
After much hard work and a few challenges (and yes, a few tears when things didn’t go quite as planned!), we successfully opened Creekside Cottage, our first short-term rental property. During the renovation of Creekside Cottage, we also purchased a second property for my husband's father to live in. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to stay long, and we decided not to sell the house immediately. So, we took a brief four-month pause from our other renovation projects and focused on getting Westside One Story up and running before returning to the Wellsboro house. We are excited to see where our next project will take us. Our daughter is moving to CO, so maybe we will look in that area next. Â
When we’re not working on renovations, we love to spend time outdoors hiking, skiing, riding our ATVs and motorcycles, and most importantly, enjoying quality time with our family and friends. We are proud parents of three grown children and two grandchildren, and two dachshunds who keep us very busy and bring us endless joy.
